Hello,

My name is Noemi Lopez, I am coming from Miami, Florida and was born in Mexico City! I am bilingual; English and Spanish. My favorite food is tacossssssss. A relaxing day for me consists of eating food (tacos, tacos, chocolate, ice cream, etc.) and watching films (action, horror, comedy, documentaries, etc.) all day long!

At The University of Tampa, I am majoring in Film and Media Arts with a minor in Business Administration. I want to become a Film Producer and be able to manage my crew members into making the best action and inspirational films! I have grown a huge passion for this industry since elementary school and love every aspect of behind the scenes. For the animation class, I expect to learn how the artists work on creating the art that inspires them right from their imagination. I want to be able to have the ability to make my images come to life!

Weak Spongebob!

The weight project has been the easiest assignment compared to all the previous ones we have done before. I found it easier to handle than the walk cycle because there were not as many movements that needed to be precise so it was better to move around and focus more on the facial expressions. For reference, I looked up model sheets for SpongeBob for his movement and facial expressions, as well as looking up videos of people at the gym lifting up weights. That got me more or less an idea of how heavy the object was and how to position the character correctly in order to show the facial expressions when it was time to pick up the weights. I changed the color pad to a yellow so Spongebob could be in a way colored but not colored completely. Adding Gary was a way to make the short film funny to emphasize how light the weight actually is. Even so that he was able to pick up the weight with his own eye and spongebob is just in shock throughout the whole occasion.

Bouncing Ball Course!

This project was really helpful in playing around with after effects and getting more of an understanding of how the software actually works. I have used it before to see what it does but never went into detail to do a project on. I worked on this project in about two days so it did not take a lot of time as compared to the other projects we have done so far so it was very easy to make the project. The biggest challenge for me was to align the keyframes in the right order so it will speed up or slow down the ball whenever it bounced off the floor. The other challenge I faced was making sure the volume of the ball was the same along the course to make sure it did not get smaller or bigger as it bounced around. After a while, I had to look online for videos of balls to see how the speed of them reduce every time it hits another object and it helped me structure the way I had to make my balls volume as it went towards the exit.

Bart Cycle!

For this animation, it seemed really easy at first but once I got into the details of all the in-betweens and making sure the movement was similar to the frame before and after, it did get a bit confusing on how to manage everything to look smooth. It was very helpful to have a reference sheet in the corner to go back and verify I was doing the correct position for that movement. I watched several walk videos to get more of an idea on how to do it. I never knew how complicated walk cycles are! When I see it on the shows, I have never noticed it but now that I have done it, I can imagine what the animators have to go through. Doing this cycle was fun overall and I would do more if I had time to do more walks to make sure they look smoother. Besides that, I have been really more tools in Harmony and it can be helpful later on for future projects.
